Support Rider Development
Official CRCA coaching sessions are offered free to members from the beginning of March to the end of December. They are scheduled to meet the needs of the members; most happen weekday mornings and evenings in Central Park. We cover everything from basic bike handling to cyclocross to off-the-bike resistance training, and all of it is free.
Though the coaching is free to members, the coaching is not free for the CRCA. We pay our coaches out of a finite Rider Development fund. This fund also helps cover the Junior Development and Under-23 programs as well as men’s and women’s elite composite team trips to major races, and grants to promising riders for specific events. We continue to keep coaching free because we want to foster bicycle racing to the largest cross-section of the New York City population possible.
If you are someone who takes advantage of our coaching but can afford to pay for it, please consider making a donation to CRCA Rider Development. Your donation will go towards offsetting the cost of coaching allowing us to direct more funds to the programs that really need them. And even if you never participate in the coaching programs, please consider making a contribution.
