2008 Jim Boyd Rules
The Jim Boyd competition honors the most consistant racers throughout the year in the A, B and Women’s fields.
Individual riders will earn points towards the Jim Boyd Award (fields A, B, and W) in all CRCA races except Club Championship, the Masters CC, and the TT championship
Points Awarded as follows:
1st place 10 points
2nd place 6 points
3rd place 3 points
Ties will be broken based on number of higher placed finishes. If riders are still tied finishes from 4th place and lower will be used to determine the winner.
The rider in the A, B and Women’s field with the most points at the end of the season will be the Jim Boyd Champion.
Team Size Limits
9 riders in the A field
12 riders in the B field
Any team violating these rules will forfeit any points scored that day in either the Team Cup/Challenge or Jim Boyd Awards.
Additional Notes and Rules
- A field riders are no longer allowed to "ride down" in the B field. However, B field riders, if their team has more than 12 riders on race day, may elect to "ride down" in the C Field.
- Combined B/C races will count towards the B field Jim Boyd competition.
- Points are not transferable from one field to another.
- Marshaling violations: If a racer who is supposed to marshal does not marshal or provide a substitute, then any points earned by the racer for that race shall be forfeited. Furthermore, he or she will not be eligible to score points in future races until the violation is made up. However he or she will be eligible to score points in the race in which they make up the violation. This policy should serve as a strong message for every rider to monitor the marshal list. Also it is advised that all team members who are marshaling check in with their teammates on race morning, so the teammates will know the marshal obligation is being met. Teams can always appoint someone to fill in for a teammate if an assigned marshal no-shows on race morning.
