2008 Team Cup/Challenge
Sub-teams in the A, B, and women’s fields can earn team cup points in all CRCA races except the Club Championship, the Masters Club Championship, and the TT championship.
Each sub-team will be scored on its seven best race days before the Team Cup Finale (TCF) on September 20.
Points scored in the TCF will be added to the previous seven best race days to determine the Champion Team. Ties will be broken based on (i) result in the TCF (ii) A team’s next best (8th and so on) race day.
Points Awarded as follows:
- 1st place 20 points
- 2nd place 15 points
- 3rd place 12 points
- 4th place 8 points
- 5th place 7 points
- 6th place 6 points
- 7th place 5 points
Points will be awarded at 2.5 times this rate in the TCF with fractions rounded up.
Team Size Limits
9 riders in the A field
12 riders in the B field
Any team violating these rules will forfeit any points scored that day in either the Team Cup/Challenge or Jim Boyd Awards.
Additional Notes and Rules:
A field riders are no longer allowed to "ride down" in the B field. However, B field riders, if their team has more than 12 riders on race day, may elect to "ride down" in the C Field.
Combined B/C races will count towards the B Challenge.
Teams will score points for their first two riders who place in the above points structure. If a team places more than two riders, those additional placings will "take away" points from other teams, but will not earn points.
Marshaling violations: If a team member is supposed to marshal, and he or she does not marshal or provide a substitute, then any points earned by that team for that race shall be forfeited permanently. Furthermore, the team will not be eligible to score any more points in future races until that member’s violation is made up. However the team will be eligible to score points in the race in which they make up the violation. This policy should serve as a strong message for every team to monitor the marshal list to ensure its members fulfill their marshal obligation. Also it is advised that all team members who are marshaling check in with their teammates on race morning, so the teammates will know the marshal obligation is being met. Teams can always appoint someone to fill in for a teammate if an assigned marshal no-shows on race morning.
