Team Cup & Jim Boyd Rules

Team Cup Rules

The team with the highest point total at the end of the season wins.

1. The best 8 races plus Team Cup Finale points are counted.

2. No points are awarded for Club Championship races.

3. The Team Cup Finale follows an increased points schedule as shown below.

4. Teams score points for their best three riders only.  If additional riders place, the points for those places are not counted in calculating the Team Cup points.

5. A Team Time Trial event is included in the Team Cup. If a sub-team places multiple teams, only the points for the first team will be counted in calculating the Team Cup Points.

6. In addition to the applicable CRCA club races (refer to the race schedule) the following Open Race events will also count towards the Team Cup Competition, however only RACING (not Associate) member’s points will count:

  • Grant’s Tomb Criterium 3/8/20134(Men Cat 4 = B field, Men Cat 3 = A Field, Women Open = W field, Men P/1/2 = A Field). Note that the Men’s Cat 3 and the Men’s P/1/2 will be scored separately (i.e. teams can score points from both, up to a maximum of 3 riders in total).  Scoring is based on absolute positions, not relative placing of CRCA racers.
  • Orchard Beach Criterium 5/4/2014 (Men’s 1/2/3 = A Field, Men’s 4 = B Field, Women’s 1/2/3 = W field.  In all cases, scoring is based on absolute positions, not relative placing of CRCA racers)
  • Bear Mountain Spring Classic
  • Silvermine TTT hosted by Westwood Velo
  • Another race may be added provided sufficient notice is provided to club members (at least 4 weeks)

7. In the case of a tie, the team with the higher placing in the Team Cup Finale will be declared the winner.

8. As per the marshaling policy, any sub team with a member from any CRCA race Category on the Suspended Marshals list will not be able to score Team Cup Points. This goes for the current race and any future ones until the suspension is cleared. If any sub team has three members on the Suspended marshals List then the whole team will not be allowed to race any CRCA races until such time as all suspensions and extra marshaling duty is cleared.  It is the responsibility of the designated Team Managers to monitor the suspended list, which is published on the CRCA website and updated after each race.

No points are awarded for other Club Championship races.

2. Increased points are awarded on “Boyd Bonus” days as shown below.

3. The Silver Mine  Time Trial Club Event will count with points awarded on the same basis as mass start races outlined below (non-CRCA racers are excluded/ignored for placings)
