CRCA - Big Results at Battenkill

The CRCA sent a fairly sizable contingent up to Cambridge, New York for the American Classic, Tour of the Battenkill, which was held on Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6. A summary of the sizable results achieved by our racers is below. Men's Pro/1:

This was a stacked field, with the best result from the CRCA coming from CRCA/Foundation's Evan Murphy, in 17th place. Foundation sent five racers, with the remaining finishers as Neil Bezdek in 30th, Dan Chabanov in 43rd, and Nick Keogh in 46th.

Women's Pro/1/2:

Cecilia Davis-Hayes from CRCA/Stan's No Tubes p/b enduranceWerx made the break in this race to finish on the podium in second place, with BrittLee Bowman winning the field sprint for fourth. Other CRCA finishers include Emily Spence of CRCA/BH Comedy Central, Aimee Layton and Lisa Vandivort of CRCA/CityMD Racing, Erica Adelberg and Laura Lee Pederson of CRCA/Radical Media, and Anna Zivarts of CRCA/Rockstar Games/Signature Cycles.

Juniors:

Samuel Morkal-Williams of CRCA/Junior Development finished in 12th place.

Men's Cat 2:

The Cat 2 race was won out of a solo break, with Chris Strumolo, from CRCA/e2Value, coming in second in the sprint out of the chase pack for a third place finish. His teammate Jesse Walker finished 8th, with Jayson Jacobs of CRCA/Rapha Racing rounding out the top 10 (in 10th place).

Men's Cat 3:

James Horn from CRCA/W&D Racing/NYC Velo came in 5th, followed closely by Jesse O'Donnell of CRCA/e2Value in 6th place.

Women's 3/4:

Cassie Maximenko of CRCA/Stan's No Tubes p/b eduranceWerx continued her very impressive introductory tour of road racing with a solo break in the Women's 3/4 field, to win by 2:30. Barb Blakley of CRCA/CityMD Racing rounded out the podium in third place.

Women's Cat 4:

Isabelle Cote, from CRCA/KruisCX p/b Repucom had the best result in the under 40 Cat 4 race in 5th place. Fanny Bourdais of CRCA/Rockstar Games/Signature Cycles also scored a top 10 in 8th. In the 40+ race, Maria Rosenfeld from CRCA/Dave Jordan Racing repeated her W from last year.

Men's Cat 4:

There were a number of Cat 4 men's fields. In the 4A field, Alyosha Smolarski from CRCA/W&D Racing/NYC Velo landed on the podium in 2nd place. In the 4D field, Christopher Peck from CRCA/e2Value was third.

Men's Cat 5:

The 5's always make up a large proportion of racers at Battenkill, and this year was no exception. Andrew Bonsall, from CRCA/Lucarelli & Castaldi, was second in the 5D's.
