Sunday saw both Housatonic Hills - the annual Connecticut sufferfest for the climbers amongst us - and the Harlem Skyscraper Classic for the sprinters. CRCA members performed well at both. At Housatonic, Fabienne Gerard finished 3rd (2nd Cat 2) and Raquel Miller 4th (1st Cat 3) in the women's open race.
Ariel Mendez continued his recent good form in club races, taking 2nd in Men's Cat 3 race. Wei Chen, a "graduate" of the Junior Development team finished 4th.
In the Men's Cat 4 40+, Eric Sutherland and Warren St. John placed 2nd and 3rd respectively and Harry Zernicke rounded out a well stocked CRCA top 5 with his 5th place.

Meanwhile in Harlem.... Kristin Lotito won the Women's Open race while Emily Underwood finished 4th. There was more success for CRCA in the Men's 4 event with John Blake taking the win and Tony Munoz 3rd place.
Ricky Lowe placed 3rd in the Keirin Exhibition, Gabriel Acaba finished 3rd in the Men's Elimination, Zach Koop was 2nd and Colin Prensky 4th in the Men's 2/3.
Results from the kid's races are pending the results of a hearing into the legality of training wheels in a UCI event and testing of a so-called "juice box" found in the possession of the parents of a winning child. Stay tuned to NYVelocity for more on that story...

Great results for CRCA across the board in both races. CRCA was one of the sponsors of the Harlem Skyscraper Cycling Classic. "The race provides a unique opportunity and venue to showcase bicycle racing to a broader audience" said Dave Jordan. "As the premiere New York City racing club, we owe it to our members to help support events that allow our members to perform at their best in front of a large crowd and at a time of day that allows their families to enjoy their heroic efforts!"

Fabienne Gerard will be looking to reel in Kristin Lotito in the Women's race. Another high place finish from Tony Munoz will make him difficult to catch, but with another Boyd Bonus day coming up on July 24th, anything is possible....
