Introducing Professional Results for the CRCA Club Series

The CRCA Board is pleased to announce that the 2018 Lucarelli & Castaldi CRCA Club Series will feature professional results and will now be eligible for USAC upgrade points.

As close watchers of the CRCA Board Agendas and Meeting Minutes might have noted, this enhancement comes following extensive discussion and planning within the Board. Adding professional results is an additional cost burden for the club but with the continued popularity of the Club Series in recent years our existing staff and results platform (a tripod mounted consumer video camera and an aging laptop) were reaching their respective limits. As a result this outsourced service was needed, particularly as some of our most experienced and longest tenured race staff is transitioning this year. With full results for each field, the Club Series races will also be eligible for USAC category upgrade points.

The CRCA Member Survey returned a lot of feedback for the 2017 Club Series, both concerning the long wait time on results as well as their accuracy. We hope that by hiring the leading results company in the area, we will streamline the results process for all of the Club's stakeholders, staff and racers alike. Your feedback matters!

This investment also takes place against the backdrop of an increased marshaling burden due to stricter requirements in Central Park, an expanded race calendar and modest membership declines since 2011. We hope that improving the results process and thereby making the CRCA Club Series eligible for upgrade points with no increase in 2018 CRCA membership fees will increase the attractiveness of CRCA membership for riders throughout the tri-state area.

If you have not yet joined CRCA we encourage you to do so now as we are in the final countdown to the start of the 2018 season on March 3rd. To join the club click this link!
