CRCA Coaching

CRCA membership unlocks a FREE coaching calendar led by experienced licensed coaches. Training sessions are tailored to help beginner racers develop new skills while enhancing technique and racecraft for all members. Topics include: New Members Skills, Sprinting, Attacks and Breakaway Efforts, Criterium and Cornering Skills, Time Trialing, Climbing, and Pack Skills.

  • Tara Parsons began racing in 1995 and competed at the elite level for a decade, riding for TEAm Lipton, Aquafina, and RLX Polo Sport. A strong all-around rider, she won New York State Road and Criterium Championships and placed at Bear Mountain and Quabbin. She thrived in major stage races like Redlands, Sea Otter Classic, and Tour de ‘Toona.

    Since 2008, Tara has coached individual cyclists and teams, joining CRCA as a coach in 2012. She works with various racing and multi-sport teams and partners with Rapha to support women in cycling. Her coaching emphasizes skill-building as a foundation for performance while ensuring riders find joy in the sport.

  • Sarah has raced across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. She is a multiple-time U.S. Masters National Champion in both the Road Race and Criterium, earning more than 15 podiums and two Best All-Around Rider awards at Nationals.

    She has also won multiple Open and Masters NY State Championships and is a four-time CRCA Club Champion and three-time Jim Boyd Cup winner. Her teams have won the CRCA Team Cup six times.

    Sarah loves sprinting and is passionate about helping riders unlock speed by combining form, strength, and timing. She is dedicated to growing the Women’s field at the grassroots level and serves on the CRCA board.

  • John is a USA Cycling Certified Level 2 Coach, Bike Fitter at enduranceWERX, a Category 2 road racer, and a cat 3 cyclocross racer. A founding member of the NYCC Racing Team, he also competes in gravel events in New York and beyond.

    Drawing on experience across multiple road and off-road racing disciplines, John coaches technical skills like bike handling, cornering, and race tactics for CRCA members. A 2008 Dartmouth graduate, he has called Brooklyn home since 2010.

  • Ann Marie Miller, a Cat 1 racer, competed with the Verizon Wireless Women’s Cycling Team and is a four-time UCI World Masters’ and 11-time US National Masters’ Road Champion. She won multiple CRCA Road Race and Time Trial Championships and two Jim Boyd Awards, crediting CRCA for her development as a racer.

    A USAC Level 2 coach with a Master’s in Applied Physiology from Columbia, Ann Marie runs EPIC Training and Fitness and leads physiological testing, bike fitting, and CompuTrainer workouts at Chelsea Piers. A CRCA coach for over a decade, she emphasizes periodized training, cycle-specific strength, and strong technique for riders of all levels.
