CRCA Development Series
Most CRCA races offer dedicated fields for Category 4/5 racers as part of the CRCA Development Series.
The Dev series is open to both CRCA members and non-members, including first-time racers.

If you are a CRCA member…
The development series runs alongside every club race and half of our open races. Look for the field annotation “WDev” / “MDev” with the number of Central Park laps indicated in parentheses.
Season Pass members register for each race at no additional cost. Basic members purchase a registration for each individual race.
If you’re not a CRCA member…
You can register for races in the CRCA Development Series on BikeReg.
CRCA races are sanctioned by NABRA, and so you do not need a USAC license to race.
Series Leader Competition
The Dev racers with the highest number of points throughout the series will wear the respective Series Leader Jersey for each race, with the racer who has earned the highest cumulative number of points at the end of the season being named the overall Series Winner.
Points Overview
Racers earn points for placing in the top 10, with the following system:
1st: 12 pts
2nd: 10 pts
3rd: 8 pts
4th: 7 pts
5th: 6 pts
6th: 5 pts
7th: 4 pts
8th: 3 pts
9th: 2 pts
10th: 1 pt
Upgrades
When a racer upgrades out of the Dev field, they retain their points in the Dev competition but can no longer earn new points. If they hold the Dev leader’s jersey, it passes to the next highest-placed Dev racer still in the field. If they remain in the lead at the end of the season, they will be crowned the Series Winner.
Tie Break
In the event of a tie, the racer achieving a higher placing in the most recent race will be crowned Series Winner.
These are the rules of racing bikes with the CRCA in Central Park. You must read them before you race!
