CRCA Open Racing

In addition to the 12-race series for Club Members, the CRCA hosts several races open to all.

  • The Mengoni Grand Prix is especially poignant this year as we honor the late Fred Mengoni. A passionate supporter of cycling, he sponsored GS Mengoni, nurtured countless elite riders, co-founded US Pro Cycling (now part of USA Cycling), and was inducted into the Cycling Hall of Fame in 1994. His lasting impact is measured across generations. He backed the GS Mengoni team in the 1980s, which helped such riders as Steve Bauer, Leonard Nitz and Doug Shapiro, among others, start their racing careers. Mengoni was also an early backer of Greg LeMond, and the pair remained friends for life. The 1990s version of the team was key to starting the careers of George Hincapie and Mike McCarthy among others in the New York City racing scene.

  • The race is presented by Lucarelli & Castaldi LLP, a personal injury law firm that represents injured cyclists and other accident victims in New York and New Jersey. L&C is also the title sponsor of CRCA’s famous Club Series and a vital supporter of amateur sporting events and cycling in the New York metro region.

    • Register on Bikereg (TBA)

The CRCA Grant's Tomb Criterium, held in mid-June in upper Manhattan, is one of the largest and most exciting bike races in the tri-state area. With opportunities to race multiple fields and plenty of action for spectators, it’s a highlight of New York City’s racing calendar.

  • The Dave Jordan Central Park Classic is the most prestigious race held in Central Park. Named in honor of former CRCA President Dave Jordan, the race continues to be supported by the Jordan Family, whose sponsorship insures that registration raises funds for the support of youth cycling in New York City.
