CRCA and Foundation Announce Euris Vidal Elite Men's Racing Series

eurisseries Century Road Club Association (CRCA), one of the largest and oldest cycling clubs in the country, and Foundation Cycling New York, an elite cycling team based in New York City, are pleased to announce a multi-year partnership to support the new EURIS VIDAL ELITE MEN'S RACING SERIES.

The EURIS VIDAL ELITE MEN'S RACING SERIES will be a season long competition comprised of each of the major CRCA open races including the Grant's Tomb Criterium, the Bear Mountain Spring Classic and the Dave Jordan Central Park Classic.

The goal of the series is to honor the memory of Euris Vidal, a two time CRCA Club Champion and the first Dominican to sign a professional cycling contract, and to contribute to the continued growth and development of Elite level racing in New York City.

2014 SERIES SCHEDULE

The 2014 EURIS VIDAL ELITE MEN'S SERIES will be comprised of seven of the most prestigious and exciting races in the New York City area:

  • Grant's Tomb Criterium
  • Orchard Beach Criterium and Kids Race
  • Bear Mountain Spring Classic Road Race
  • Dave Jordan Central Park Classic
  • Lou Maltese Memorial and Team Invitational
  • Mengoni Grand Prix
  • Time trial event to be announced

The 2014 scoring methodology will be announced on CRCA.net shortly.  At the conclusion of the year the winner of the EURIS VIDAL ELITE MEN'S RACING SERIES will be presented with an award at the CRCA End of Season party.

FOUNDATION CYCLING NEW YORK TO LEAD FUNDRAISING EFFORTS

As part of this partnership, Foundation Cycling New York will lead efforts to raise funds that will be held in escrow by CRCA and be distributed over a multi-year period, insuring that the EURIS VIDAL ELITE MEN'S RACING SERIES is a major element of the New York City racing scene for the foreseeable future. In addition, merchandise will be graciously accepted and added to the series prize pool throughout the tenure of the series.

The 2014 series officially starts on March 8th with the CRCA Grant's Tomb Crit and we look forward to an exciting and action packed year of Elite Men's racing that will honor Euris Vidal's memory.
