Central Park racing is just up the road. To make sure you’re as prepared as possible for those early race mornings, we want to remind you of a major change we’ve made this season. Our race operations (and your results!) depend on everyone following these steps.
race registration (NEW!)
One of the most important changes we’re making this year is with registration. For the 2026 Lucarelli & Castaldi Club Series, advanced registration is required for every race. You must register in advance through the member portal before the specified deadline. We cannot overstate this: if you do not register online, you do not race.
This lead time is necessary for managing field limits. Basic members must purchase race credits. Make sure you log in and click “register” for all of the races you plan on racing this year before they fill up!
To register, log in to members.crca.net and navigate to the “Races” tab. You’ll be able to see the race date, start time, lap count, finish line, and who you’ll be racing against.
Numbers & Timing chips
Once you have successfully registered, don’t forget to pin your number and ensure your timing chip is mounted to the fork of your bicycle. Accurate results require proper placement. It’s easier for all of us if the officials can read your number and the timing computer can "see" your chip.
To learn how to pin your number properly, please consult this handy CRCA blog post from a few seasons back. Remember, for the CRCA Lucarelli & Castaldi Club Series, the default number positioning is RIGHT SIDE and BACK CENTER (over your jersey pockets).
To correctly mount your timing chip, secure it to the fork of your bicycle. The red side must face out (away from the wheel) so the timing system can record it accurately. Fasten it tightly with zip ties so it doesn’t shift or rattle during your race. See more here.
Don't forget that registration for the March 14th race closes on Wednesday, March 11 at 11:59 PM. Make sure you hit the “Register” button in the portal before the deadline.

Las carreras en Central Park están por comenzar. Para asegurarnos de que estén lo mejor preparados posible para esas madrugadas de competencia, queremos explicarles un cambio importante que hemos implementado esta temporada. La logística de las carreras (y sus resultados) depende de que todos sigan estos pasos.
Registración (¡nuevo!)
Uno de los cambios más importantes de este año es el proceso de registración. Para la 2026 Lucarelli & Castaldi Club Series, el registro previo es obligatorio para cada carrera. Deben inscribirse con antelación a través del portal de miembros antes de la fecha límite establecida. No podemos enfatizar esto lo suficiente: si no te registras en línea, no corres.
Este es necesario para hacer cumplir los límites de carrera. Los miembros básicos deben comprar créditos de carrera. Asegúrense de iniciar sesión y hacer clic en “registrar” en todas las carreras en las que planean participar este año antes de que se llenen.
Para registrarse, ingresen a members.crca.net y vayan a la sección “Races”. Aquí podrán ver la fecha de la carrera, la hora de salida, el número de vueltas, la ubicación de la meta y contra quiénes competirán. Las fotos están arriba.
Números y chips de cronometraje
Después del registro, no olviden adjunta tu número y asegurarse de que su chip de cronometraje esté montado en la horquilla de su bicicleta. Los resultados precisos dependen de una colocación adecuada. Es más fácil para todos si los jueces pueden leer su número y la computadora de cronometraje puede "ver" su chip.
Para aprender a colocar su número correctamente, consulten esta publicación del blog de la CRCA. Recuerden que, para la 2026 Lucarelli & Castaldi Club Series, la posición estándar del número es del LADO DERECHO y en la PARTE BAJA CENTRAL (sobre los bolsillos del jersey).
Para montar correctamente su chip de cronometraje, conéctalo a la horquilla de tu bicicleta. El lado rojo debe mirar hacia afuera (lejos de la rueda) para que el sistema lo registre correctamente. Sujétalo firmemente con bridas de plástico para que no se mueva ni vibre durante la carrera. Leer más aquí.
No olviden que el registro para la carrera del 14 de marzo cierra el miércoles 11 de marzo a las 11:59 PM. Asegúrense de presionar el botón de “Registrar” en el portal antes de la fecha límite.
