Lou Maltese Memorial Results: 2013/07/21

It was a terrific day at the races for the 2013 CRCA Lou Maltese Memorial as the recent heat wave loosened its grasp on the city and racers competed for over $6,000 in prizes. After some hard fought competition that included primes on the 'summit' of Harlem Hill it was Rudy Project Racing Team that walked away with victory in the 8th Annual Lou Maltese Team Invitational, scoring big points from Andreas Graf who won the Men's 1/2/3 Championship Field. CRCA/Foundation took second place in the team competition while GS Mengoni USA finished third in the team competition.

In the individual The Men's 1/2/3 competition Cesar Marte (GS Mengoni USA) finished second behind Andreas Graf with Thomas Barnett (Metra) rounding out the podium. The Men's 1/2/3 field averaged a very quick 27.5mph during the race.

The Women's 1/2/3 Championship was won by Anneliese Haines from CRCA/BH Comedy Central who managed to slip away from the peloton to take the solo win by 11 seconds. The field sprint for second was won by Amy Cutler, who also took a number of Harlem Hill primes during the race, while third place went to BrittLee Bowman (CRCA/Stan's) who finished just ahead of the Asphalt Green Cycling Team duo of Aimee Layton and Lisa Kennish. The Women's 1/2/3 field averaged 22.3mph.

In the Men's 3 race a break got away just 2 miles into the race and eventually four riders from that break went the entire 7.8 lap distance with Blaine Hurty (Black Tie Sports) taking the win ahead of Stephan Hoffman (Team Rockstar), Matthew Vandivort (CRCA/Team Sixcycle-RK&O) and Ethan Pond (CRCA/CyclelifeUSA). The field sprint for 5th was won by Ron Ferraz (CRCA/Foundation). The break averaged 25.9mph during the race.

The Men's 4 field was won by Nunez Enmanuel (Inteja), who finished ahead of Joseph Grgic (CRCA/Setanta) and Leo Diaz (unattached). The Men's 4 field averaged 24.5mph during the race.

The Juniors field featured three racers and was won solo by Galen Xing (CRCA Junior Development) who finished in a time of 46:13 for a very quick 22.1mph pace. Second place went to Abraham Latorre (T-Town Elite) who finished two seconds ahead of Ian Newcom (CRCA/Junior Development).
