It's been an incredible year for CRCA Women's Racing thus far - in addition to a successful women's clinic in late April, just a few weeks ago the club broke new ground with an incredible 74 rider women's field for the CRCA Dave Jordan Classic. This was the largest women's field CRCA has ever hosted and reinforces our dedication to this fast growing element of the sport.
CRCA Women's Cat 4 Series p/b Rockstar Games and Signature Cycles
With that in mind the next race in the CRCA Women's Cat 4 Series p/b Rockstar Games and Signature Cycles is less than one month away - July 6th in Central Park NY. The CRCA Women's Cat 4 Series is designed to both allow existing Category 4 racers the opportunity to earn upgrade points and move through the USAC ranks as well as introduce new women to the sport (including those racing on day of licenses).
The next race in the series is the second of three Central Park races (the finale for the series will take place in Central Park on August 24th). As is the case with the other Central Park races in the series, CRCA members are allowed to register day of using their CRCA numbers. All non-CRCA members must register in advance via Bikereg.
With four of six races in the series complete there is a very close competition underway. Masha Schneider (CRCA/Westwood) and Alie Giaime (CRCA/Houlihan) are in the lead with 17 points but Jessica Meany (CRCA/Stan's No Tubes) and Julia Simon (CRCA/Houlihan) are close behind with 15 points. Trailing slightly behind with 14 points is Erica Tricarico, also of CRCA/Stan's No Tubes).
